Mas
Cagnet is in the heart of the Gard region, in the foothills of the Massif
Central, to the west of the Rhone. The house is a few fields from the
Cote du Rhone region, and the local village of St Gervais produces Cotes
du Rhone Village A.O.C.
The property is located on the outskirts of the village of Salazac which
sits on top of the ridge separating the Ardeche and Ceze rivers. . The
nearest local towns are Pont St Esprit and Bagnols-sur-Ceze. Within easy
driving distance are the towns of Uzes, Orange and Avignon.
The area is rich in Roman history with magnificent amphitheatres in Arles
and Orange, Roman temples in Nimes and the Palais des Papes in Avignon.
The Pont du Gard - an enormous Roman aqueduct built in 19BC - is located
on the route to Nimes.
Mas Cagnet can give you a get-away-from-it-all, peaceful, chilled-out
holiday. Alternatively, it can be a base for exploring the region’s
many activities and attractions. The house is a pleasure to arrive at
and a wrench to leave.
